My Writing Life: Inside the Author’s Studio
I did a fun interview this week with my fabulous literary agent, Laurie Abkemeier, for a regular feature she calls “Inside the Authors Studio.” I got to share a photo of my writing space, showing my desk and bookshelves in my bright little office in Venice, CA—the better to write about “bright” things, of course.
I also got to share some of the secrets about my writing process—like when I feel I do my best writing, and whether or not I share my works-in-progress with anyone other than my editor/agent. I think it’s always fun to read about how other writers and authors work (and if they share their early drafts with people!) so I thought I’d give back to the pool and answer some of those questions myself. I hope you enjoy.
While you’re at it, poke around the rest of Laurie Abkemeier’s page for information on her other authors as well (and follow her on Twitter at twitter.com/LaurieAbkemeier. She is officially the world’s best literary agent—the supportive, insightful, always-right, hand-holdy kind—and I am so grateful I get to be a part of her close knit author community.
