Little Known Advice About the Gym Pick-Up
I recently provided some advice for AOL’s Digital City about some of The Do’s and Don’ts of Making a Move at the Gym—you know, where you’re usually more focused on making muscles.
It’s been a while since I’ve hit on (or been hit on by) someone in a place so sweaty, but thinking about it for this piece brought back some classics—including the time a guy left a message for me with the front desk receptionist with his number, asking me to call him. As if the idea that he could presumably lift more than five pounds was enough of a draw to get me to dial a guy I’d never even seen. As curious as I was, it gave me that same creepy feeling we women have when a man at a bar sends a drink over…then refuses to let the bartender reveal who sent it. I’m afraid there’s a fine line between sweet “I’m your secret admirer” moves to sociopathic “I’m waaaaaaaching youuuuuu” ones.
But gym meet-ups can be successful if you take and make the right approach.
